Discussion with Maggie Craddock, Author and Executive
Coach

At Fogarty's
$15 entrance fee and cash bar

Featured speaker was executive coach and author, Maggie Craddock,
who spoke about “defining success on your own terms.”  One of the topics
she focused on is developing and exercising your own internal emotional
courage in both professional and personal spheres and in the face of our
rapidly changing economic environment.

Maggie recently published the book,
The Authentic Career: Finding
Professional Fulfillment through the Path of Self-Discovery
, which
draws on her experience as an executive coach, therapist and former
award-winning Wall Street money manager.  Her book shows readers
how to figure out the difference between what they really want from their
lives and careers and what they have been taught they should want based
on family values, advice from peers, and even professional mentors.  In
early March, ABC World News will be airing a segment profiling Maggie’s
book.

As an executive coach (see www.workplacerelationships.com), Maggie
has worked with clients at all levels on the professional spectrum – from
people reaching the Vice Presidential ranks for the first time to Fortune
500 CEOs.  In addition, she has lead seminars for several top Wall Street
firms looking at the similarities between workplace stress and combat
fatigue.  She has been featured on CNBC, National Public Radio and
quoted in national publications including the Wall Street Journal, the Los
Angeles Times, and the Chicago Tribune.  She has also authored several
nationally syndicated articles on behavioral dynamics in the workplace.
Some of her coaching techniques were recently featured in an article in
Oprah Magazine called Seeing the Possibilities.

Before pursing her career as an executive coach, Maggie worked for over
a decade in financial services.  Between 1991 and 1995, she was a
Portfolio Manager at Scudder, Stevens & Clark managing $3 billion in
short-term global assets.  She received two 1992 Lipper Awards for top
mutual fund performance: Best Short-Term Multi Market Income Fund,
ranked #1 by Lipper in a universe of 77 funds, and Best World Income
Fund over $1 billion in size, ranked #1 by Lipper in a universe of seven
funds.

Subsequently, Maggie became a National Director of Consultant
Relations at Sanford C. Bernstein.  There she represented the firm across
all asset classes including emerging markets, domestic and international
fixed income, and domestic and international equity to major consultants
and pension fund clients nationwide.

Maggie received a M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of
Economics, specializing in Capital Markets. Ms. Craddock also received
an MSW from New York University, is an Ackerman certified family
therapist and has done both inpatient and outpatient work with
posttraumatic stress disorder. Maggie holds a BA in Economics from
Smith College. She is a licensed CSW and has held Series 7 and 63
securities licenses.
