| Oct 4, 2006 Paddle Tennis Event with the Bronxville Ladies Paddle League ABOUT THE EVENT This fall we thought we would try something a bit different. The WWB will be partnering with the Bronxville Ladies Paddle League (www.bronxvillepaddle.com) to offer a night of paddle, socializing and networking on October 4, 2006 from 7 - 9 p.m. Join us for this super fun night where you can hear about the Ladies League and learn how to play paddle from the finest women players in Bronxville. This evening will especially appeal to those who haven’t played before but all skill levels are welcome. As with all WWB events, this event is a great venue for establishing and building relationships with other Bronxville women who share your personal and professional interests. Whether you are considering a career change, looking for a tennis partner or need guidance finding the right after school activities for the kids, this event will be a fun and relaxed women’s night! ABOUT PADDLE AND THE BRONXVILLE LADIES PADDLE LEAGUE Paddle tennis – also known as platform tennis – is often billed as the ‘best-kept secret in racquet sports.” But players and pros are passionate about the game. Combining the best attributes of tennis, racquetball, and even chess, paddle tennis is a sport that is widely enjoyed in Bronxville. It is the only racquet sport that players can enjoy outdoors in cold weather. This unique appeal attracts people who desire fresh air, competition, and social engagement – all on a chilly winter’s night. The Bronxville Ladies Paddle League is a vibrant organization. This past year there were 12 teams and almost 40 women league members, with skill levels ranging from beginners to ‘A’ level. The League matches are played on Wednesday evenings on the Village courts. The evening play fits nicely for working women’s schedule. Bronxville Village residency is not a requirement for playing in the League. |
